Receptionist/Clerical Assistant

Brawn Karras & Sanderson has a long tradition of providing legal services to its clients and serving the community since 1974. We are located at 309 - 1688 152nd Street in South Surrey.

The firm has an immediate opening for a receptionist/ legal administrative assistant (LAA).

We care about our support team and treat them with respect and our office consists of a great blend of new and long term staff. We offer a competitive salary, training and benefits.

Your duties include:

  • Efficiently managing our busy ten line phone system, multitasking between answering calls, transferring calls, and taking messages
  • Greeting clients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Completing all tasks required for The Law Society identification procedures
  • Distribute/manage electronic incoming faxes to responsible staff/lawyers in a timely manner
  • Managing all outgoing and incoming mail, as well as couriers
  • Posting all disbursements
  • Open all new files, organizing , ordering, and preparing required documentation
  • Closing all files
  • Miscellaneous clerical duties as required
  • General housekeeping of reception and boardroom areas


  • The ideal candidate will have law firm reception experience
  • Previous accounting skills/ experience is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be meticulous with numbers and attention to detail
  • Able to multitask efficiently and works well under pressure
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Professional attitude and conduct
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel, ESILaw, BC Online, and MyLTSA)
  • Salary is commensurate with experience
